About The Festival

Annual Event

Held every year since 2023 by the Climbing Association of Ghana (Rockstars Gh), converging climbers from around the world to promote Rock Climbing in Ghana.

Community

Building a strong climbing community with an eye on its' health and potential socio-economic impact.

Past Events

West Africa Climbing Fest returns in 2025 as a 3-day celebration of climbing, community and culture.

We start each morning with energizing yoga to stretch, center, and get ready for the climbs ahead. Then it’s off to explore our 3 (three) climbing sectors, home to 20+ boulders with at least 2 (two) routes each designed for every skill level.

The adventure peaks with a friendly climbing competition, where points are earned by tackling routes of varying difficulty. As the sun sets, we gather in the town square with the village elders to celebrate the day's top climbers.

2023 - Inaugural Festival

Our first edition brought together 45 travelling climbers from 15 countries.

2024 Festival

Doubled the anticipation and championing of a community climber.

Participation Fees

Ghanaians:GHS 700.00 (appx.€ 57.00)
Non‑Ghanaians: GHS 1,400.00 (appx.€ 113.00)
Children Under 12: FREE!

Inclusions & Exclusions

What's Included

Tent accommodation (2 people per tent) for 3 nights
All meals during the festival (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Access to workshops, guided routes, and competitions
Crushpads, ropes, and other basics.

Donated gear (used shoes, chalk, slings, and other items) will be available to borrow; however, participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment if possible.

Not Included

Travel to Asubone. If you don't have private transport, opt for the shared bus in the registeration
Personal insurance (travel, medical, evacuation)
Alcoholic beverages (Available for purchase)
Optional guided tours offered by locals or partner organisations

Security & Safety

Safety is a priority. Experienced climbers and staff will oversee climbing activities. All participants must attend the safety briefing on arrival and follow protocols.

Before You Arrive

Disclose any medical conditions during registration
Bring personal travel/medical insurance (strongly recommended)
Ensure you have appropriate footwear and layers for variable weather

On-site Guidance

Attend mandatory safety briefings and follow instructions from guides
Use provided anchors and belays only as instructed by staff
Report injuries or concerns to first aid staff immediately

Emergency Info

Basic first aid will be available. For serious incidents, evacuation support will be coordinated.
